On August 18, 2016, Winyah Pharmacy hosted the 7th Annual Educational Symposium in historic Charleston, South Carolina.
The educational event was held at the Belmond Charleston Place hotel in downtown Charleston. More than 100 administrators, director of nurses, and other key facility personnel attended. Topics included non-pharmacological interventions for mood and behavior in the geriatric population, regulatory compliance for controlled substances and motivational approaches in the industry. Presenters included Greg Thompson (Premier Senior Living), Alan Skipper (Southern Retirement Georgia), Derek Strickland (SC DHEC), and Adrienne Baker (Pharma).
Novo Nordisk also hosted dinner at the High Cotton Restaurant, where they introduced attendees to a new approach to diabetes. Multiple partners sponsored this event and had opportunities throughout the day to share information and ideas with the attendees.
Feedback on the program was excellent and continuing educational hours were presented to each attendee in a form of certificate at the conclusion of the program.
Winyah Pharmacy plans to host this event again next year in August, 2017. For additional information, please contact Susan Lecklitner at 843 618 0089 or susan.lecklitner@winyahrxy.com.
