On April 22, 2016, Dede Richardson, PharmD, pharmacist consultant at Winyah Pharmacy, presented at the annual spring conference for the South Carolina Nursing Home Association (SCNHA). The event was held at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Dede presented on psychoactive medications by focusing on the identification of the different classes and proper diagnoses for each, and on Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) initiatives for medication reduction. Administrators and directors of nursing from around the state were in attendance and continuing education credits were issued.
